Windows RT 8.1 update paused after glitches was experienced

If you are looking forward to updating your Windows RT to 8.1, you are advised to hold on a bit. Though an update will be available shortly, this does not speak well of Microsoft’s reputation.

The Redmond, Wash. company posted the following a message to its website:

Microsoft is investigating a situation affecting a limited number of users updating their Windows RT device to Windows RT 8.1. As a result, we have temporarily removed the Windows RT 8.1 update from the Windows Store. We are working to resolve the situation as quickly as possible and apologize for any inconvenience.

Some users got error messages and attempt to fix it according to instructions given only worsen the situation. Some users have complained about the loss of data while some devices cannot work due to the error messages popping up.

While many others have been able to update without issues, they said it runs faster than the windows 8 rt version.
