GTA San Andreas cheats for PC, PlayStation and Xbox

GTA San Andreas has two different cheat languages. The Windows releases accept words typed during gameplay. PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch use button sequences. Most Classic cheats survived in Definitive Edition, but not every engine-dependent effect did.

Use a separate manual save before entering anything. San Andreas includes world-state cheats that can remain in the save, disrupt pedestrian behavior or make a later mission difficult to complete.

How to enter San Andreas cheats

Windows PC

Stay in normal gameplay and type the phrase or short code. Do not open chat, pause or press Enter first. The letters are not case sensitive, and a confirmation appears when the hash matches.

Both INEEDSOMEHELP and the familiar short code HESOYAM trigger health, armor and $250,000. This guide uses the shorter community codes because they are easier to scan and work in the supported PC editions unless an edition note says otherwise.

PlayStation, Xbox and Switch

Enter the complete sequence during gameplay. Use the d-pad for directions and press the inputs steadily without holding them. PlayStation labels below use X, Circle, Square and Triangle; Xbox uses A, B, X and Y.

Switch uses the same directional sequence, but the face-button letters sit in different physical positions. Follow a Switch-labelled sequence rather than translating an Xbox row by letter. A connected keyboard can be the clearer option on builds that accept PC phrases.

Android and iPhone

Classic mobile and Definitive Edition mobile do not expose a universal touch-only cheat box. A connected physical keyboard can enter PC phrases on supported builds. Do not install a third-party keyboard or APK that asks for account access just to enter cheats.

Save safety and Definitive Edition differences

• Keep one clean save and one chaos save.
• Do not save during a riot, pedestrian attack or gang-control cheat.
• Definitive Edition achievements can be disabled on a cheated save.
• XICWMD invisible cars and the Classic free-aim-in-cars effect were removed from Definitive Edition.
• Re-entering a toggle does not guarantee that mission scripting returns to normal.
• If traffic, pedestrians or missions behave strangely, quit and reload the clean save.

BAGUVIX is often described as complete invincibility, but that is misleading. It protects against ordinary gunfire and melee damage, not every damage type. Use HESOYAM when you need a dependable refill rather than assuming CJ cannot die.

Vehicles need clear ground. If a spawn fails, move away from an interior, bridge, narrow alley or mission marker and try again.

If a controller code fails, verify the game edition, move out of a mission, use the d-pad, and start again rather than trying to continue from the middle of the sequence.

What this page improves over a raw code dump

A code list is only useful if it tells you which build accepts the input and how to recover afterward. San Andreas is unusually risky because some cheats modify the simulated population, not just CJ. The safest rule is simple: player and vehicle-spawn cheats are session toys; pedestrian, gang and traffic cheats belong in a disposable save.
