This page brings the established GTA 5 Story Mode cheats into one platform-labelled sheet, with PC console commands, PlayStation and Xbox button inputs, and phone numbers where that method is supported. Save first: activating a cheat disables trophies and achievements for the current session.

How to Enter GTA 5 Cheats on Each Platform
There are three input methods. All of them must be entered during normal gameplay (not in a menu), and button combos need to be pressed fairly quickly.
PC: Console Commands
- Press the tilde key (
~) during gameplay to open the command console. On most UK and EU keyboards this is the key directly below Esc, sometimes printed as`or¬. - Type the cheat word (for example
PAINKILLER). It is not case sensitive. - Press Enter. A confirmation message appears on screen.
If the console does not open, check your keyboard layout in Windows. On some layouts the console key maps differently; switching to a US layout temporarily is the quickest fix.
PS3, PS4 and PS5: Button Combos
Press the button sequence on your controller during gameplay. The d-pad directions (Left, Right, Up, Down) are the d-pad, not the analog stick. The combos are identical on PS3, PS4 and PS5, including the GTA V Enhanced version on PS5. There is no separate set of “PS5 cheats”; Rockstar kept the same inputs across every PlayStation generation.
If a combo will not register, you are probably entering it too slowly. You have roughly a second between inputs.
Xbox 360, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S: Button Combos
Same rule as PlayStation: press the sequence during gameplay using the d-pad for directions. The combos are identical across Xbox 360, Xbox One and Series X|S, including GTA V Enhanced.
PC and newer consoles: the in-game cell phone
Phone dialing is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. It is not the input route for the original PS3 and Xbox 360 releases.
- Press Up on the d-pad (or T on PC keyboard, Up arrow works too) to bring up your character’s phone.
- Open Contacts, then press the button shown to switch to the keypad (X on Xbox, Square on PlayStation, Spacebar on PC).
- Dial the full number, including the 1-999 prefix, and call it.
- The cheat activates instantly. The phone also saves dialed numbers, so you can redial recent cheats from the call history.
Every number below follows the same pattern: 1-999 followed by the cheat word spelled out on the keypad. That is a handy way to remember them, and it is how we verify numbers when sources disagree.
Read This Before You Cheat
- Cheats disable trophies and achievements for the session. The block lasts until you reload a save or restart the game. It does not permanently flag your profile.
- Save first, cheat second. Cheats cannot be saved with your game, but keeping a dedicated “chaos save” separate from your main story save means you never risk saving over legitimate progress.
- Cheats never work in GTA Online. Attempting to use anything cheat-like online is a fast way to get suspended or banned. Story Mode only.
- Most cheats toggle off by entering the same code again. The rest expire on their own (invincibility lasts 5 minutes) or clear when you reload a save.
- Some cheats stack. Moon gravity plus the Sanchez, or explosive melee plus fast run, are classic combos. Experiment.

Three notes worth knowing:
- Invincibility expires after 5 minutes. Re-enter the code to refresh it. It does not protect you from falling out of vehicles into water hazards in every case, and explosions can still throw you around.
- Skyfall has no parachute. You spawn thousands of feet up and fall. The community trick: aim head-first straight at the ground or a building and you can sometimes survive the landing. Or just enter the parachute cheat mid-fall, which works if you are quick.
- Super Jump requires holding the jump button for the full effect. Combine it with moon gravity from the world cheats table for absurd air time.

Details:
- TOOLUP gives you every weapon your character can currently hold, with full ammo. Enter it again after burning through rockets to refill.
- Slow Motion Aim (DEADEYE) can be entered up to four times. Each entry deepens the effect, and the fourth entry turns it off. It only slows time while you are aiming, which makes drive-bys feel like a John Woo film.
- The wanted cheats move one star at a time. Five stars means five entries of LAWYERUP to get clean. The phone redial trick makes this fast.
- Explosive melee plus fast run is the classic “one punch chaos” build. Expect a wanted level within seconds.
GTA 5 Vehicle Spawn Cheats
Vehicles spawn directly in front of you, facing the same direction you are. Spawn them in an open area: calling in a Buzzard inside a tunnel ends about how you would expect.

* Unlock requirements. Three vehicle cheats only work after you complete specific content on PS4/PS5, Xbox One/Series and PC versions:
- Dodo Seaplane: complete the “Sea Plane” random event.
- Kraken Submarine: complete the Wildlife Photography Challenge (photograph all 20 animals).
- Duke O’Death: complete the “Duel” random event, which unlocks after the “Pulling Favors” Strangers and Freaks mission.
Until then, the codes simply do nothing. On consoles, these three plus Director Mode have no button combo, so the phone (or PC console) is the only way to trigger them.
A note on the mid-air spawns: the Buzzard is the single most useful cheat in the game (full weapons, fast, spawns armed), and both planes will spawn on the ground, so give yourself runway. Details:
- Moon Gravity only fully applies while you are in a vehicle. Get in a car, drive off a ramp and float. Pedestrians you bump go floating too.
- Change Weather cycles through nine states in order: sunny, clear, cloudy, smoggy, overcast, rainy, thundery, clearing and snowing. Yes, the snow cheat is real: enter MAKEITRAIN repeatedly until you hit the snow state, and pair it with SNOWDAY for sliding cars.
- Director Mode lets you play as almost any character or animal in the game, from Lamar to a seagull. Entering it via the cheat disables trophies like any other cheat, and it will end any active mission.
- Black Cellphones is the strangest cheat in the game: your phone turns black, and an explosion goes off at your location. It exists purely because Rockstar could.
No, There Is No GTA 5 Money Cheat
This is the most searched GTA 5 cheat that does not exist. There is no money cheat in GTA 5 and there never has been, on any platform, in any version. No button combo, no console command, no phone number. Every video or website claiming otherwise is either showing a mod (PC only, single player only) or farming clicks.
Why? Because GTA 5’s economy is connected to GTA Online’s shark card business and to the single player stock market. A free money code would break both. Rockstar deliberately shipped the game without one.
What actually works instead:
- The Lester assassination missions plus the stock market. Invest all three characters’ money before each assassination and you can turn the endgame payout into over $2 billion. This is the closest thing to a legitimate money cheat in the game.
- Random events, armored trucks and store robberies for early-game cash.

Yes. All cheats work in the GTA V Enhanced versions on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, using the exact same button combos as PS4 and Xbox One and the same phone numbers. Rockstar has never changed the codes between console generations.
Do cheats disable trophies and achievements in GTA 5?
Yes, but only temporarily. Entering any cheat blocks trophies and achievements for your current session. Reload a save from before you cheated (or restart the game) and earning them works normally again. Cheats do not permanently flag your account.
Is there a money cheat in GTA 5?

Can you save your game with cheats active?
