Keyword Planner Development issues and reported bugs
As reported by Adrain B – Adwords Consultant, he noticed discrepancies in the result generated by the keyword planner, just months to the final take down of Keyword Tool. He observed that the Avg. CPC price is higher than BMM in the previous screen when the previous print-screen shows normal behavior for avg cpc.
A quick response by Google’s Juliana, an AdWords rep, confirmed this is a bug but gave no time for a fix. Juliana wrote:
I was able to verify this is a known technical issue we have identified with the keyword planner. Right now, we don’t have an estimated resolution time; however, we are working on having this resolved.
Adrian asked, “But why is the Avg. CPC price higher than BMM in the previous screen when the previous print-screen shows normal behavior for avg cpc?”
Getting Started with Keyword Planner.
There are 3 possible ways of using the keyword planner:
- Search for Keyword and Ad Group Ideas
- Enter or Upload Keywords for Estimates
- Multiply keyword lists for Estimates
Search for Keyword and Ad Group Ideas: Enter a keyword or phrase, the URL of a landing page and/or an AdWords category, and the Keyword Planner will return some potentially relevant keywords.
Each keyword is accompanied by the average number of times per month for which that exact phrase was searched, the phrase’s competitive score and its average cost per click (CPC). This is the only option available to discover new keywords within AdWords. The other two options report data only for the specific keywords entered without suggesting additional keyword ideas.
Enter or Upload Keywords for Estimates: Adding keywords to the planner, to get quick relevant result. The Keyword Planner provides a robust keyword result and standard for researching and picking keywords to add to your Ads campaign.
Multiply keyword lists for Estimates: Save the time of manually combining keywords by multiplying two or more lists of keywords. Then, get historical statistics or traffic estimates for the new list of combined keywords. This works like permutation of two or more variables to achieve a likely result.
To get accurate information on the searches for your business that are happening in the area they service. This new keyword planner will help you target your campaign towards cities where you know search volumes already exist and scoop up the business.
Start developing strong content marketing strategies to provide great information on the web and reach potential customers through long tail searches. Always remember to create content that actual customers would want. Otherwise your keyword planning effort will be a waste.
