You will see the search option sitting below the drop down, click on the button inscribed search and look to the upper right hand corner to clear and delete all history stored by Facebook.
From time to time you will need to visit this page to clear your search history from time to time, their is no permanent solution to switch off the Facebook search history.

In the same order has described above, visit the activity log, click on the more drop down, then click on search. There you will find all your search entries.
